HOPE – SOUTH – Ameer Al Dobbi

Ameer Al Dobbi is a 7-year-old boy in KG3 who is a new student for this academic year. He switched from the afternoon program last year to the morning program for this year due to his outstanding intelligence, bravery, and significant progress throughout the previous year.

Despite Ameer’s intelligence, he showed unwillingness to engage with any Bible stories during the Bible sessions. Often, he would cover his ears while the teacher is telling the story. Even during worship time, while other students happily sang and danced, Ameer remained disengaged, persistently covering his ears without reacting.

This year there was a noticeable change in Ameer. His previous teacher from the afternoon program observed that he actively participated in chapel time by answering questions. When she inquired about his behavior in Bible sessions this year, she was surprised to know that he was now memorizing all the Bible stories.

After speaking with Ameer’s mother, Walaa, she confessed that she was the reason her son Ameer wasn’t listening to the Bible stories. She explained that she had prevented him from listening because she didn’t want him to know about Jesus, given their Muslim background.

However, after she attended Bible sessions at Heart for Lebanon, she developed a love for Jesus and underwent a change in perspective. Finding peace in knowing Him, she later encouraged her son to listen and learn more about Jesus Christ.

Furthermore, Ameer mentioned that after his mother allowed him to learn more about Jesus, he began to love listening Bible stories and that he is very excited to know more about Him.
